Aging well
in the Sacopee valley
The Grateful Undead supports aging in place by promoting knowledge and organizing services and activities that enable residents of the Sacopee Valley and surrounding towns in southwestern Maine to continue to live in our own homes and community safely, independently, and comfortably as we age.

Transporters
The program evolved to mainly driving Sacopee Valley Health Center patients to and from appointments at the Center or as far away as Portland free of charge.

Senior Central
Our aim is to create an active, engaged senior community through offering and encouraging a safe, stimulating, and supportive social environment. We organize dinners, weekly coffees and local walks adapted for older folks.

Handy Helpers
Volunteers help seniors with minor home repairs, snow shoveling, simple home safety modifications, etc. Most volunteers are members of the Porter Grange or local Masonic Lodges, and members of those organizations coordinate the work.
Who are we?
We are volunteers from Porter, Hiram, Baldwin, Parsonsfield, Cornish, Newfield, and other nearby towns in Maine’s southwestern foothills.
